2016 Open Enrollment

Open enrollment for Affordable Care Act coverage begins November 1, 2015, and ends January 31, 2016.  If you don't enroll in a 2016 plan by January 31, 2016, you cannot enroll in a health insurance plan for 2016 unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. If you don't have coverage in 2016, you may have to pay a fee.  The fee is higher in 2016 than it was in 2015.  For questions related to Affordable Care Act insurance coverage, to enroll or for assistance with documentation, contact Terrence Body, case manager, at 252-522-7977, or Kinston Community Health Center at 252-522-9800.

Affordable Care Act and Healthcare Marketplace

Lenoir Memorial plays a vital role in educating uninsured patients about their coverage options and helping them navigate the Marketplace.  There are several ways to apply for health coverage.  You can apply online using a laptop or desktop computer.  (You may not be able to complete the application using a smartphone or tablet.)  You can also fill out a paper application, apply over the telephone or apply in person at certain sites.  Find out more about the different ways to apply here.  Certified Application Counselors (CAC) are available within Lenoir Memorial to educate consumers and aid them in completing an application for coverage.   If you have questions or wish to set up an appointment, you may contact Terrence Body, social worker at 252-522-7977, a patient accounts counselor at 252-522-7000 or call 800-318-8596 at any time of day, seven days a week.  Or visit

I Can Cope - Caring for the Caregiver

Please join speaker and host, Janet Scism, medical social worker, for an evening of talk about caregivers; who they are, and what they do. Refreshments will be served. Free to the public but registration is required by calling Janet at 252-522-7600.


Gentle Yoga

This 30 minute class will include a number of simple standing as well as mat poses.  Class will focus on correct posture, form, and safe yoga movements.  Connect with your inner self through breathing techniques and meditation.  Enhance your balance and overall strength and peace.  A great way to escape a stresful day! Beginner's level.  Must be a member to participate. 


Healthy at Every Size

Sometimes its not just about the weight loss! Learn about making healthy habits for real benefits of a healthy lifestyle --- that matter. Learn about the benefits of establishing an active lifestyle and a good diet and how even small changes can make a genuine impact. Get your new year off to a good start and join us to create non weight related goals for the new year. Even if you aren't seeing the weight loss, don't get discouraged, there are other measures of improvement that are real and can positively impact your health every day.  Join us for a Silver and Fit social immediately following this program.
